Rutistus is a Finnish folkdance group founded in 1988 and is one of the six groups of Friends Of Folkdance in Helsinki. Rutistus has a core of about 20 active dancers, mostly university students, although the age of the dancers ranges from twenty to fourty.

Our repertoire consists of traditional Finnish dances and songs. Our dances are strongly anchored in traditional Finnish folklore in order to maintain traditional Finnish dancing culture in its most original form. We guarantee that this fact does not make our dances dull; quite the opposite, actually!

Rutistus has had the honour of performing abroad at various folkdance festivals in Denmark, Norway, Italy, Belgium, China and Florida . We love to perform, and our dances can be fitted into various occasions and needs.
